Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 22, 2026  ·  Last Updated: March 22, 2026

1. Introduction

OUTLND ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the OUTLND mobile application (the "App") and our website located at outlnd.io (collectively, the "Services"). Please read this policy carefully. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described herein.

This policy is designed to comply with applicable privacy laws and the data disclosure requirements of both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, including Apple's App Privacy Details requirements and Google Play's Data Safety section requirements.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Precise Location Data

The core functionality of OUTLND depends on your device's GPS location. When you use the App, we collect your precise location (latitude and longitude with high resolution) in real time. This data is used to display your position on the hunting access map relative to other active users, generate real-time and historical hunting pressure heat maps, and determine proximity to public land boundaries and access points.

Location data is collected only while the App is in active use (foreground). If you enable background location access, we collect location data while the App is running in the background solely to maintain your live presence on the shared map. You may revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings, though doing so will disable core App functionality.

2.2 Anonymous User Presence Data

By default, your location is shared with other active OUTLND users anonymously. No name, profile photo, or personally identifiable information is attached to your map presence. Other users see only a generic marker indicating that a hunter is in a given area.

2.3 Account Information

If you choose to create an account, we may collect your first name, last name, and email address. This information is used to manage your account, enable private group features, and communicate with you about the Services.

2.4 Private Group Data

If you create or join a private hunting group, we collect the group name and the identities of group members you invite. Within a private group, members may choose to share their identities with one another. Group membership data is visible only to members of that group and is not shared publicly.

2.5 Usage and Diagnostic Data

We collect information about how you interact with the App, including session duration, features accessed, crash reports, and device type. This data is used to improve App performance and user experience. It is not linked to your identity.

2.6 Waitlist and Communications Data

If you submit your name and email address through our waitlist form on outlnd.io, that information is transmitted to our email marketing platform (Beehiiv) and used solely to communicate updates about the App's launch and development.

3. How We Use Your Information

The table below summarizes the purposes for which each category of data is used. We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data for targeted advertising or share it with data brokers.

4. Incognito Mode

OUTLND offers an Incognito Mode that allows you to use the App without appearing on the shared map visible to other users. When Incognito Mode is active, your location is not transmitted to other users. Your location data may still be used locally on your device for map navigation and access boundary display, but it is not shared with our servers in a form associated with your session.

5. Heat Map Data

OUTLND generates both real-time and historical heat maps based on aggregated, anonymized location data from all active users. Heat map data represents collective hunting pressure across geographic areas and does not identify any individual user. Historical heat map data is retained in aggregated form to power the e-scouting and access intelligence features of the App.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Service Providers. We work with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Services, such as cloud hosting providers, analytics platforms, and email delivery services (including Beehiiv for waitlist communications). These providers are contractually obligated to use your data only as directed by us and in accordance with this policy.

Legal Requirements. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of OUTLND, our users, or the public.

Business Transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

With Your Consent. We may share your information for any other purpose with your explicit consent.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. Anonymous and aggregated location data used for heat maps may be retained indefinitely in aggregated form. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address provided in Section 12.

You may disable location access for the App at any time through your device's operating system settings. Incognito Mode. You may activate Incognito Mode within the App at any time to stop sharing your presence with other users.

The Services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

10. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Location data transmitted from your device is encrypted in transit. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Third-Party Services and Links
